Welcome to the Department of Geological Sciences
The UI Geology Department consists of 11 active faculty, support personnel, and most importantly over 100 enthusiastic and talented undergraduate and graduate students.
| Because of the university's size, location in the Rocky Mountain west, and opportunities to work personally with internationally recognized faculty, our students are getting private-college service at the state's flagship institution. |
|
Our graduates have excellent employment opportunities in environmental geology, water resources, earth science education, minerals exploration, and the petroleum industry. If you are considering a science course, interested in pursuing a major, or contemplating graduate school, explore this web site for more information and feel free to come by and visit.
